Case Study: Onsite Fleet Fueling

SHAMROCK CABINETS, MANUFACTURING, KANSAS USA

Customer Overview

Established in 1966, Shamrock Cabinets is one of the Midwest’s most renowned makers of custom fixtures, manufacturing cabinets for residential homes and new construction, working with builders and directly with customers all over the Kansas City area. To bring in raw materials and to deliver finished cabinets, Shamrock operates its own fleet of box trucks and service vans.

The Challenge

Shamrock was fueling their own vehicles and had seen that with two employees in each vehicle, time was being lost fueling trucks at gas stations. Bulk fuel storage wasn’t an option due to complex regulations at their city location. They had tried having someone in house to check truck fuel levels and drive each truck to a station at night to refuel, but it wasn’t efficient. The company was looking for a provider of a better fueling solution.

World Kinect Solution

World Kinect carried out a detailed review of Shamrock’s existing fleet fueling operations and fleet card cost analysis, recommending Shamrock to introduce Onsite Fleet Fueling in addition to the fleet cards.

Timely Delivery

World Kinect technicians now arrive onto Shamrock site every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday to deliver fuel directly into Shamrock’s trucks and vans.

Several Fueling Options

The trucks are fueled with diesel and vans with gasoline at the same delivery.

Fleet Fuel Cards

Fleet Fuel Cards

Onsite Fleet Fueling now takes care of about 90% of Shamrock’s fuel needs, the other 10% are met with fleet fuel cards. Fleet cards are used as a backup solution when vehicles must travel long distance or after very busy days when vehicles need fuel before the next onsite fleet fueling delivery.
